The year is 1960 and Margaret Rutherford – the ‘funniest woman in the world’ - has been approached by MGM to play Miss Marple in ‘Murder, She Wrote’, the first big screen appearance of Agatha Christie’s famous amateur consultant detective. But Margaret doesn’t want to play the part. Nor does the author want her to. Both have their reasons - but what are they?
And so begins a game of cat and mouse where each try to discover the other’s motives, little suspecting the secrets they both hide, and which have remained long buried. Joining them on stage is the enigmatic Spinster, who observes and encourages them to help each other to acknowledge and come to terms with the skeletons in their closets
Murder, Margaret and Me is by turns funny, compelling and moving, revealing new insights into people we thought we already knew.
