Chutney is a brand new comedy by Stuart Evans. Centring around a milestone wedding anniversary of Susan and Gregory, who have invited their children, Tom and Sophia, and Gregory’s sister and her husband, Philippa and Keith, to help them celebrate at a family meal, Susan, a perfectionist, insists that the occasion runs as flawlessly as possible. She exerts obsessive control over everything, from what is eaten to how her guests must behave. However, when they start to arrive early and have the audacity to bring inappropriate, home-made wine, Susan’s meticulous arrangements start to go awry, with family members turning out to have secrets and unconventional domestic arrangements, of the kind that might best have stayed hidden behind closed doors.
